National context

Saudi Arabia is not short of graduates.

It is short of ways to prove what those graduates can do. Over the last decade the Kingdom roughly doubled its annual graduate output while unemployment fell and participation widened: national reform working exactly as intended. What remains is a matching problem at the level of the individual student and the individual job. That is the layer Fursah is built for.

Annual graduates, then and now

Saudi universities now produce well over twice the graduates they did in the middle of the last decade. The 2023 total counts every level the Council of Universities Affairs reports: bachelor's, diplomas, master's and doctorates.

The mix shifted faster than the total

Volume is the less interesting half of the story. Between 2009 and 2020 the share of graduates by field moved sharply. Business administration alone went from a small minority to a third of all graduates. A national system can expand and still leave specific employer demand unmet.

Labour indicators

The reforms worked. The matching layer is what is left.

Both headline labour targets in Vision 2030 have already been met or passed. That is precisely why a platform like this one addresses matching quality rather than aggregate participation.

Vision 2030 target of 7% was met in 2024, six years early. The new target is 5%.

The response

From national statistic to individual action

01

For students

A readiness score that names the missing skill rather than issuing a rank, backed by evidence the student owns and controls.

02

For employers

Candidates ranked on evidenced capability, each with a reasoning card explaining why the match was made.

03

For universities

Curriculum alignment measured against live employer demand, so course revision can respond within a term rather than a cycle.

Where this project sits in national strategy

Human Capability Development Program

Develop a resilient education system aligned with labour-market needs and equip citizens with globally competitive skills.

Thriving Economy: Rewarding Opportunities

Reduce unemployment among Saudi nationals and raise the share of citizens in productive private-sector work.

A data-driven public sector

Base education and workforce policy on measurable, timely evidence rather than lagging annual surveys.

United Nations

Sustainable Development Goal alignment

Each entry cites the numbered target rather than the goal alone, so the contribution can be assessed against the published indicator.

4
Quality EducationTarget 4.4
Substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.

Readiness scoring names the specific skills a learner is missing for a target role, and the roadmap converts that gap into concrete learning actions.

8
Decent Work and Economic GrowthTarget 8.5
Achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value.

Matching is driven by evidenced capability rather than personal characteristics, and every ranking carries a human-readable justification.

8
Decent Work and Economic GrowthTarget 8.6
Substantially reduce the proportion of youth not in employment, education or training.

The education-to-employment loop is designed to catch graduates before they leave the system unplaced, by flagging readiness gaps while they are still enrolled.

5
Gender EqualityTarget 5.5
Ensure women's full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life.

Protected characteristics are excluded from ranking inputs, and outcomes are monitored for uneven impact across groups.

10
Reduced InequalitiesTarget 10.3
Ensure equal opportunity and reduce inequalities of outcome, including by eliminating discriminatory laws, policies and practices.

Students from any institution are assessed against the same published criteria, and any automated result can be appealed to a named human reviewer.
